Yes — 100% waterproof. The waterproof membrane is fully bonded into the cover's construction, not sprayed on. This is the key difference between VelvetGuard and cheap alternatives whose waterproofing fades after a few washes.

The cover features deep elasticated edges that grip tightly around your mattress, preventing liquid from seeping underneath through the sides. The elastic is designed to accommodate mattress depths of up to 30cm.

If you ever find that the waterproofing has failed after normal use within 12 months, we replace your cover free of charge under our guarantee.

Yes, VelvetGuard is heavier to wash than cheap covers — and that's actually a good sign. The weight comes from real, dense quilted fill. Cheap covers feel light because there's almost nothing inside them. That's why they go flat.

This is the most common question we get, and we respect it. There are real differences worth understanding before you decide.

Cheaper covers use thin single-layer padding and spray-coated waterproofing that degrades after 3–4 washes. By month 2, they're flat and no longer waterproof. You end up replacing them every 6 months.

VelvetGuard uses thick multi-layer quilted construction with a bonded waterproof membrane — not a spray coating. The waterproofing survives repeated hot washing because it's woven into the structure.

Our 12-month guarantee covers two things:

1. Delivery guarantee — if your order arrives damaged or different from what you ordered, we replace it free within 48 hours. No return needed. This applies immediately from the moment you receive your order.

2. Product quality guarantee — if the waterproofing fails or the cover loses structural integrity through normal use within 12 months of purchase, we replace it free. This excludes damage from misuse such as using bleach, ironing directly, or machine washing on hot cycle.
